This is a student project turned into real (soon). Crick-Itz is a sustainable snack product using crickets as a source of protein. I had the fun challenge of integrating crickets, an unusual ingredient for food, into a branding that was approachable and friendly. Transparency is important in healthy organic foods, but having a cricket front and center was too jarring. While designing, I went with why crickets are an ingredient instead. It is jammed packed with protein for 10 small crackers, and I took advantage of that with the slogan "big things come in small packages." The product packaging itself is smaller than a business card, highly emphasizing the impact of the muscular insects. It includes a small window to see the crackers themselves, staying true to the realness of the product itself. The small snack sized boxes are packed in a box, reminiscent of cricket boxes.
